All in the name of World Cup 2006 Fever: another decriptive script (for a job interview that I've gone to last week)

WORLD CUP 2006 FEVER

EXT/KAMPUNG FOOTBALL FIELD/EVENING
A group of kampung boys playing football as a 9 year old boy stands beside the field, watching them with enthusiasm. [FOCUS BOY] The boy gazes up to the sky and saw the clouds turning grey. He carried on cheering his friends until it rained heavily. The game stopped and everyone ran for shelter. The boy was standing beside a teenager, his favourite idol.

TEENAGER:
Kenapa tak main tadi?
(Why didn’t you join the game?)

BOY (answered shyly):
Tak reti main la, bang.
(I don’t know how to play football).

The teenager later took the boy’s hand and they ran into the field despite the heavy rain. The teenager taught him how to play football. They are laughing.

INT/FOOTBALL CLUBHOUSE/MORNING

EXT/FOOTBALL FIELD AT CLUBSHOUSE/MORNING
The team pracitising hard for the upcoming match. The coach later divided the team into two: TEENAGER on one team with another 10 players, BOY in another team. They are in opposite teams now. [FOCUS BOY’S FACE] The boy feels pressured but the teenager just smiles, assuring him that the game is just part of the training. The coach as referee blows his whistle and the game begins.

EXT/FOOTBALL STADIUM/NIGHT
Spectators everywhere, carrying banners, faces painted in their favourite team’s jersey/flag colour, supporting their teams. The match has already begun and the TEENAGER’s team is leading. [FOCUS TEENAGER] He was leading his team, the crowd cheering as he tackles, dodges his opponents but suddenly…he was tackled by another opponent and he falls to the ground. The referee blew his whistle to pause the game and checked TEENAGER’s condition. The tackle had injured the TEENAGER; had to be stretchered out of the field. The coach calls the BOY to replace the TEENAGER, the TEENAGER smiles to him, patted him on the shoulder before being stretchered into the locker room for treatment. BOY entered the field confidently.
